Summary
As the Communications Manager, you will execute impactful communication strategies to help companies and organizations worldwide measure and report their greenhouse gas emissions using Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards. In this role, you work closely with the GHG Protocol Director and Climate Communications Director to oversee and implement a broader communication strategy for the GHG Protocol portfolio and will be called on to represent the team’s work both internally and externally. You will sit with the Climate Program’s communications team but integrate closely with GHG Protocol staff based at WRI and WBCSD. You may also be asked to contribute to other projects on a case-by-case basis. Your portfolio may shift overtime as needs arise. As the ideal candidate for this role, you must be a highly-skilled, passionate and innovative professional with a proven track record of crafting communication strategies and successfully executing them. You will need to be a self-starter, set high standards for yourself, and consistently bring new ideas to the GHG Protocol team.

Description
Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, environmental studies, environmental policy, or related field Excellent communication and writing skills  Minimum of 3 years of relevant, full-time professional experience in creating and implementing communications strategies Comprehensive understanding of communications strategies and execution Professional experience in advocacy and/or environmental organizations Critical thinker who can analyze complex and technical content and data and convey it into easy-to-communicate, knowledgeable insights Strong organizational, coordination, and project management skills Ability to work cooperatively with others, to demonstrate flexibility in fulfilling assignments, and to be proactive in planning, researching, and pitching stories with a strong interest in trying new approaches Ability to work under high-pressure Strong computer skills, including experience with CMS and Microsoft Office 365 applications US (preferred) or EU work authorization is required.
